A Galentine’s Day Brunch

Galentine's Day brunch party ideas

Happy Galentine’s Day!!! 💕 👯‍♀️ Today is one of my favorite days because it’s all about ladies celebrating ladies. It’s one day that gives us a great excuse to shower our besties with love and Leslie Knope compliments. To be honest, I look forward to Galentine’s way more than Valentine’s Day (shhhhhh don’t tell my hubs).

This year I held a brunch party, and let’s just say I took it up a notch from last year’s festivities. My house is basically an explosion of pink and balloons and it’s fabulous.

I may never take down the decorations or pop those balloons.

Even though I went arguably a tad over the top, I managed to throw the party on a small budget. Thank you Target and Dollar Store! Check out my Galentine’s Day spread below and my tips for throwing your own brunch party!

Party Decor

Flowers. Tassels. Balloons. And pink and red everything. That’s all you need to really girl things up.

For inexpensive flowers, Trader Joes is always my go to. I picked up a few bundles of individual flowers for $3.99/each then just mixed and matched to make three bouquets.

All of my other decorations were super cheap. I knabbed this adorable red polka dot Kate Spade tablecloth at Home Goods for $12 on clearance!

Last year I shared how to make a tassel garland, but after finding premade ones at the Dollar Store I’m probably never going to make them again. I got 2 strands of red tassels and 2 multicolored pink ones and mixed them together on each string. I draped them on the wall above this adorable love foil balloon I found on Amazon and from the ceiling. The Dollar Store also had red and pink heart balloons I spaced around the room.

Along the way I also got these ridiculous heart sunglasses and Valentine’s Day straws, plates and napkins from The Dollar Store, Target and Home Goods. And for extra feel good vibes, I lit my Oprah prayer candle.

Mimosa Bar

You can’t have a brunch without a mimosa bar! I asked my girlfriends to bring bottles of bubbly while I supplied juice options. Instead of just putting out the cartons, I poured the juice into mason jars I already had and topped them with these Ball Jar Sip and Straw Lids that made it super easy to pour.

All of the Waffles

Just like you have to have mimosas at a brunch you have to have waffles at a Galentine’s Day party. I whipped up a few batches of Buttermilk Power Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix from Kodiak, which is my absolute favorite. It’s 100% whole wheat and has 14 grams of protein! It’s super filling and makes you feel less bad about about all of the sweet stuff you put on top. Well a little. Whatever it’s Galentine’s Day. TREAT YO SELF

There are tons of options for toppings! I brought out berries, chocolate chips, whipped cream, Nutella, maple syrup, bacon, apples, and bananas.

Any great party needs games to keep everyone entertained. Target had these throwback MASH cards and cootie catchers for $1 in the bargain section! Trust me you’ll have a blast going down memory lane with your favorite middle school games.

After game time get crafty! Chances are at least some of your friends don’t love doing crafts so make sure to pick something easy everyone will like. These cute marble clay ring dishes from A Beautiful Mess were super easy to make! And everyone actually wanted to take them home.

Last but not least, make sure to have some tunes! I’ve already got you covered with my Galentine’s Day Spotify playlist full of songs from my favorite female artists.

Minus all of the pink, I’d still say Ron Swanson would approve of this party. Maybe just cook up some eggs and more bacon.

Happy brunching!
