I’m officially two weeks away from moving into my first house everyone! Paint samples are falling out of my purse, my phone is full of photos from window shopping and my Pinterest boards are getting a little nuts. Needless to say I’m dying to get my DIY on. One of the first projects I want to tackle is painting my kitchen cabinets to add some color and vintage charm.
Here’s a sneak peak of my new place:
It’s a newer townhouse that’s going to be a great first home for us, but it definitely needs some more character. My vision is to brighten up the walls, swap out the counters and hardware, add some retro backsplash tile and paint the cabinets a bold shade.
To help me decide on which paint color to go with, I’m rounding up my favorite kitchen cabinet color ideas.
Green goes perfectly in a kitchen, especially in shades of celery and avocado. Yum!
Mint is a great way to add a little bit of color to your kitchen and keep it light and airy.

Want to go bold? This emerald green kitchen cabinet color makes a major statement.
Don’t want to be quite so literal in the kitchen? Blue is another great color for kitchen cabinets. This robins egg blue pops against the white walls, but keeps things bright.
In between color or neutrals? This blue gray is a great in between color that looks especially lovely with brass hardware.

Another great way to go bold is with navy, which never goes out of style.
As much as I love color, gray cabinets are another great way to add warmth to a kitchen. This light gray leaves enough of a contrast again white subway tiles.

Some grays can look a little cold, but the slight brown tint to these gray cabinets really makes this kitchen cozy.
The touches of blue in this darker gray make these cabinets really striking and add a touch of an industrial feel.
